On Saturday night, Israeli soldiers entered the town of AlKhader, located south of Bethlehem in the West Bank, triggering protests and causing numerous Palestinians to experience the effects of tear gas inhalation. Military sources reported that several military jeeps targeted the AlBawwaba neighborhood and the vicinity of the Big Mosque, effectively shutting down local streets which prompted demonstrations.
The soldiers deployed tear gas canisters and concussion grenades, impacting homes and vehicles, leading to several residents suffering from tear gas exposure. Additionally, the soldiers raided a bakery and various shops, compelling them to shutter their operations and instructed local residents to vacate the streets.
In a related incident, soldiers also invaded the village of Jouret AshShama, situated south of Bethlehem, where they established a military checkpoint at the main entrance near a local boys’ high school and searched shops for surveillance footage.
