Dubai is getting ready to illuminate the Festival of Lights with an exciting array of Diwali celebrations and entertainment scheduled from October 25th to November 7th, 2024. Residents and tourists alike are encouraged to save these dates for a variety of cultural experiences, comedy shows, musical tributes, theatrical productions, free community events, and much more. Curated by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), this Diwali event schedule promises to envelop families and friends in the joy and magic of the season.

One of the key highlights includes spectacular fireworks displays that will light up Dubai’s night skyline, marking the start of the festive season. Families are invited to enjoy these dazzling displays at two prime locations: Al Seef on October 25th and Global Village on October 25th, 26th, and November 1st, 2nd, all set to begin at 9:00 PM.

A major attraction during this year’s festivities is the Noor Festival of Lights, taking place at Al Seef from October 25th to 27th, produced by TeamWork Arts. This three-day cultural fair will bring together stunning lights, artistic presentations, interactive experiences, and live performances, all beautifully decorated with Diwali embellishments against a backdrop of fireworks. Activities scheduled to take place include puppet shows, theatrical performances, poetry readings, musical acts, stand-up comedy routines, hands-on painting and design workshops, and a feast of traditional Indian cuisine set throughout the 18-kilometre promenade. Visitors can also explore the rich offerings of Al Seef, including a traditional souk and a vibrant array of restaurants, boutiques, and attractions.

Additionally, the Deepavali Utsav 2024 will be hosted on October 26th at the Etisalat Academy in Dubai, featuring traditional Indian folk dance performances and a funfair atmosphere with games, rides, and activities suitable for all ages. Food stalls will present an array of Indian delicacies, creating a lively and festive environment.

Global Village is set to host a vibrant Diwali celebration from October 28th to November 3rd, showcasing Rangoli art, main stage performances, and firework displays. The Festival of Lights Market, presented by the India Pavilion, will offer an exciting shopping experience while dining options will feature Indian culinary favorites, from traditional street food at the Indian Chaat Bazaar to a selection of restaurants. Guests can buy entry tickets through the Global Village website, mobile app, or onsite ticket booths.

On October 27th, Deep Utsav 2024 will be held at Glendale International School in Oud Metha, offering entertainment and activities for all ages. The festival will include games, competitions, and kids’ activities, along with live DJ performances, traditional Dhol Tasha drumming, and captivating dance performances. Attendees can also indulge in food stalls that offer festive treats and unique items.

On the same day, October 26th, the Diwali Fiesta Exhibition at Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers will spotlight a variety of shopping options, including festive apparel, jewellery, accessories, home decor, skincare products, and handcrafted items. Meanwhile, DoubleTree by Hilton M Square will feature the Diwali Edit Fashion Luxury Exhibition, showcasing the latest in fashion and home decor.

Comedy enthusiasts can enjoy a performance by Romesh Ranganathan at Coca-Cola Arena on October 25th, where the UK stand-up comedian will showcase his unique style of observational humor for one night only.

Music lovers have the chance to attend ‘The Unforgettables,’ a tribute to the late Jagjit Singh, running until October 26th at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Indian High School, where Tauseef Akhtar, a disciple of Singh, will perform the legendary singer’s beloved hits.

The theatre scene also shines with ‘Meera: Echoes of Love,’ a performance blending dance, theatre, and music at Dubai British School, scheduled for October 26th, featuring a cast of seventy local artists celebrating women’s strength and the emotions tied to love. Later, on November 8th, audiences can enjoy Ashvin Gidwani’s thriller ‘Barff’ at Zabeel Theatre, directed and performed by Saurabh Shukla, promising a blend of suspense and drama.
