On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the UAE Ministry of Education officially approved the exam schedules for the first term for grades 3 to 12 in both government and private schools following the Ministry’s curriculum. Exams are set to begin on Wednesday, November 27, focusing on subjects in Group A, which encompasses core subjects, and will continue until December 12. A break for National Day celebrations will be included, and final tasks and projects for Group B subjects must be submitted between November 20 and 26.
The Ministry has outlined eight directives regarding the exams, noting that students in grades 3 and 4 will complete paper-based exams in school. For government schools, grades 5 and 9 will also take paper-based exams across all educational tracks. In private schools, students in the general and advanced tracks for these grades will have the option of paper and electronic formats. Grade 12 students will sit for an electronic exam in English.
The guidelines further clarify that grades 5 to 12 in public and private schools will participate in in-person exams employing a combination of paper and electronic formats depending on the subject and grade. Additionally, Grade 12 students from private schools will take their exams in public schools under coordinated supervision. Adherence to school uniforms is stressed, along with bringing personal computers for the exam sessions.
Grade 12 students will start their exams on November 27 with Physics, followed by an English language exam the next day. Subsequent subjects include Chemistry on December 5, Islamic Studies on December 6, Mathematics on December 9, Arabic on December 10, and Social Studies on December 11, wrapping up for applied track students. The exams for general, advanced, and elite tracks will conclude on December 12 with Biology.
