Under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Falcons Federation has revealed the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup, scheduled for January 12, 2025. This event serves as a homage to the unwavering support from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to promoting falconry as part of its cultural heritage.
Sheikh Ahmed acknowledged Sheikh Hamdan’s pivotal role in enhancing the sport’s global appeal, indicating that this support illustrates the remarkable success of the UAE in integrating sporting activities with cultural identity and heritage. The competition will comprise qualifiers from the Fazza Main Falconry Championship Al Telwah, organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, spanning three categories with two races in each category.
Categories include the Sheikhs category, featuring races for Pure Gyr Qarmousha and Gyr Shaheen Gyr Teba, among others. A total prize purse of AED28 million awaits the winners. The initiative celebrates Sheikh Hamdan’s contributions to popularizing falconry and promises an enriching experience for the sport’s future in the UAE and beyond.
