From K-pop music to hydrating skincare and delicious snacks, the Korean craze has taken over. Whether you plan to attend your favorite band’s concert or enjoy the scenic views of South Korea’s many islands, traveling to the country from the UAE has become an easy process.

Key Takeaways

  • The C-3-9 tourist visa is required for UAE residents traveling to South Korea for tourism.
  • Visa options include single entry (three months), double entry (six months), and multiple entry (five years).
  • The application process involves submitting various documents and booking an appointment with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai.
  • Visa fees vary based on the type and duration of the visa.

Types of Tourist Visas

Travelers going for tourist purposes must apply for the C-3-9 tourist visa, also known as the ‘short term tourist visa.’ This visa can be issued in three types:

  • Single Entry: Valid for three months.
  • Double Entry: Valid for six months.
  • Multiple Entry: Valid for five years.

Required Documents

To apply for the C-3-9 tourist visa, applicants need to prepare the following documents:

  • Visa Application Form: Available on the country’s visa portal (www.visa.go.kr). Fill out the form online and submit the required documents. Keep a hard copy.
  • Original Passport and Copy: Must be valid for six months from the travel date.
  • UAE Residence Visa Copy: Also valid for six months from the travel date. Virtual visa stamp holders must keep both soft and printed copies.
  • Original Emirates ID and Copy.
  • Previous Visa Copies: Required for residents from specific countries to prove they have resided in the UAE for the past two years.
  • Original Bank Statement: Covering the latest three months before applying, with a bank stamp. Issued within the last two weeks of traveling. Financial sponsors must provide additional documents.
  • No Objection Letter: From the applicant’s sponsor, detailing the purpose of visit, applicant’s full name, passport number, nationality, position, and salary. Must include the authorized signatory’s details and original stamp and signature.
  • Detailed Schedule of Stay: An itinerary listing activities, dates, accommodations, and contact numbers.
  • Two-Way Ticket.
  • Proof of Hotel Booking in South Korea.

Application Process

After submitting the e-visa form, applicants must book an appointment with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai. This can be done online through the ‘365 Overseas Korean Portal’ (www.g4k.go.kr).

  1. Click on ‘reservation to diplomatic mission.’
  2. Become a member or log in.
  3. Based on availability, book an appointment.

After the appointment, it usually takes up to 14 business days for processing. Applicants can check their visa status online. Once approved, the visa can be collected from the Korean embassy.

Visa Fees

The visa fees for most nationalities are as follows:

  • Single Entry (less than 90 days): Dh160
  • Double Entry (less than 90 days): Dh280
  • Multiple Entry (less than 90 days): Dh360
  • Single Entry (more than 90 days): Dh240
  • Double Entry (more than 90 days): Dh280
  • Multiple Entry (more than 90 days): Dh360

For certain nationalities, these costs may differ. Only cash is accepted for payment.
