A recent US study published in Thorax uncovered a concerning link between high consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and an increased risk of lung cancer. Adults with the highest intake of UPFs, such as soda, instant noodles, and more, exhibited a 41% higher likelihood of developing lung cancer. This research underscores the necessity to reassess our food choices, promote whole-food nutrition, and reduce the consumption of UPFs to mitigate health risks.
