Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency (CEA) is taking a significant step in positioning the country as a global creative powerhouse. With the launch of the second edition of their Content Project Market, the CEA is building a sustainable ecosystem to connect Thai content creators with investors, distributors, and production platforms worldwide.
Boosting Opportunities for Thai Filmmakers and Animators
Set to take place from September 10-12 at Bangkok’s True Digital Park (East), this marketplace aims to empower filmmakers, screenwriters, and animators by offering them opportunities to showcase their projects. Attendees will benefit from project pitching sessions, B2B business matching, and networking events. The forums will feature top industry experts from both Thailand and abroad, accessible not only to professionals but also to the public interested in the world of media and entertainment.
70+ Companies Supporting Thai Creativity
With over 70 participating companies, the Content Project Market is a strategic move aligning with Thailand’s broader initiative to expand its soft power globally. As Chakrit Pichyangkul, the executive director of CEA, explains, this event is more than a standalone project. It is part of the agency’s mission to boost the global competitiveness of Thai content while contributing to the country’s economic growth.
According to Pichyangkul: “By connecting talent with funding and commercial platforms, we are creating pathways for projects to progress from the idea stage to actual production, while elevating the global appeal of Thai content.”
Elevating Thai Culture and Economy
The CEA believes that Thai content has the ability to extend its influence beyond just entertainment. The power of Thai films and series lies in promoting tourism, showcasing local products, and highlighting Thai services on an international scale. Through these activities, the agency seeks to integrate creativity and innovation, driving growth and creating opportunities for cultural exports.
Specialized Programs to Foster Talent
A total of 54 creative teams will present their projects during the event, with 34 of them emerging from the CEA’s Content Lab 2025. This program includes three specialized tracks:
- Mid-Career: Project – For established creators focusing on international markets.
- Mid-Career: Story – For screenwriters developing commercially viable scripts.
- Mid-Career: Animation – Supporting animators ready to turn their concepts into production.
The remaining 20 teams were selected in an open call process, ensuring diverse and high-quality participation.
A Hub for Creativity in SE Asia
Operating under the Office of the Prime Minister, the CEA is committed to integrating culture, creativity, and business. By hosting initiatives like the Content Project Market, the agency is not only elevating Thai content globally but also proving that creativity and economic development go hand in hand.
