Growing up, Steele immersed himself in music, mastering the saxophone, guitar, and piano, while also performing in local productions. “I always feel that my training in music has contributed to my performances as Heidi Heights. I’m less about the dance and lip-syncing and more about engaging with my audience,” he explains.

Embracing a fun, campy persona, Steele decided on the name Heidi Heights, a nod to his tall stature of 6ft 6in. “It’s about owning who you are.
