Even routine expenses like condo fees, gardening services, and security are now quoted and paid in USDt.
While larger, state-controlled businesses still depend on the Central Bank’s exchange rate, most Venezuelans and small-to-medium enterprises rely on USDt due to its efficiency and accessibility. Countries like Argentina, Turkey, and Nigeria are also experiencing crypto adoption surges as citizens seek alternatives to collapsing currencies. In Venezuela’s case, additional government-imposed capital controls have fueled parallel markets for dollars and stablecoins. Any bolívars citizens earn are often hastily converted into USDt to escape rapid depreciation.
