Sharjah’s government employees are set to experience significant HR policy changes with the implementation of Decree-Law No. (2) of 2025. The new regulations include extending probation periods, prioritizing job opportunities for Emiratis and their offspring, and introducing standardized job structures. Internal committees will be established to ensure fairness, accountability, and efficiency within the public sector. These changes aim to enhance hiring practices, support local talent, and improve overall workforce effectiveness. The probation period for new government employees has been lengthened to nine months, providing a fairer evaluation window. New job grades have been created specifically for Emiratis and children of Emirati mothers. Clear job descriptions and responsibilities are defined in a centralized manual to ensure consistency across all government entities. Additionally, steps have been outlined for hiring individuals with disabilities to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Various internal HR committees will ensure governance and organization within government departments, fostering transparency and professionalism.
