Ripple Confirms Focus on Private Growth
Amid speculation about an impending Initial Public Offering (IPO), Ripple has reaffirmed its commitment to remaining a private company. Ripple President Monica Long recently clarified in an interview with Bloomberg that the blockchain payments company is in a strong financial position, negating the need to access public markets for liquidity.
Healthy Financial Standing Drives Strategy
Ripple’s private funding strategy stems from its robust balance sheets, enabling significant growth without reliance on additional public capital. Speaking in late 2025, Long highlighted that Ripple has doubled its customer base quarter over quarter due to increased demand for stablecoin-powered payment solutions and growing regulatory clarity in key markets like the United States. This market support has provided Ripple with opportunities to expand its services.
Strategic Acquisitions and Investments
In 2025 alone, Ripple demonstrated aggressive expansion through strategic acquisitions. The company deployed nearly $4 billion in capital, making high-impact deals such as the $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road, a global multi-asset prime broker. Additional acquisitions included GTreasury, expanding Ripple’s presence in corporate treasury management, and stablecoin payments platform Rail, along with the cryptocurrency custody firm Palisade.
The Growth of Ripple’s RLUSD Stablecoin
Ripple has also invested heavily in the adoption of its stablecoin, RLUSD. The company aims to integrate RLUSD as a central component of its payments, treasury, and credit systems. Commenting on these advancements, Long expressed Ripple’s intention to focus on execution in the near term rather than pursuing a listing on public markets.
Regulatory Advances and Market Position
Ripple’s recent success includes conditional national bank charter approvals from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). These approvals grant Ripple direct access to the Federal Reserve’s payment infrastructure, reducing regulatory hurdles and positioning Ripple as a major player in global payment solutions. This regulatory clarity is expected to accelerate Ripple’s growth trajectory in 2026 and beyond.
