Police issued an update after two men jumped from a window following a ‘disturbance’ in Stalybridge. Several police vehicles, ambulances, and fire engines were seen in attendance on Market Street after 3 am on Saturday morning (August 16). Greater Manchester Police had initially responded to reports of a disturbance involving a group of men at a property. However, as officers arrived, two men jumped from a window, causing serious injuries to one of the men.
Officers proceeded to arrest three men – aged 29, 34, and 41 – on suspicion of affray in connection with the disturbance. In an update issued on Sunday, GMP confirmed that all three men had been bailed pending further updates. A police helicopter was spotted above the area on Sunday morning, while emergency services descended on the busy Tameside street near Stalybridge bus station. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
A GMP spokesperson stated on Saturday: “Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances that led to the incident, but there is no wider public risk.” For the latest stories and breaking news, visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk.
