Starting from September 1, 2025, Oman will enforce a new licensing requirement for logistics professionals encompassing delivery riders, freight movers, and truck drivers. This initiative, mandated by a Ministerial Decree, introduces the Professional Practice Licence for both Omani citizens and expatriates working in the logistics industry. The licensing regulation is aimed at bolstering safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance within Oman’s growing logistics sector, aligning with the strategic objectives of Oman’s Vision 2040 plan. This move signals a step towards formalizing the logistics workforce by ensuring workers possess the essential skills and knowledge necessary for safe and professional operations. The decree covers various roles such as heavy vehicle drivers, delivery riders in food and parcel services, and warehouse/freight transport personnel engaged in logistics chains across Oman.
