Mandarin Oriental has announced plans for a new luxury hotel in Suzhou, China, situated on the east bank of the city’s famous Jinji Lake. Designed as a low-rise, serene sanctuary, the urban resort will be a central part of the new Central Business District.
The property will feature 146 guestrooms and suites, many offering balconies with spectacular lakeside views. Dining options will include three restaurants, a lounge, and a bar, with a unique focus on al fresco dining in landscaped gardens. The hotel will also boast extensive spa and wellness facilities, a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, and a comprehensive Children’s Club, positioning it as a destination for both business and leisure travelers.
The project is a development by Suzhou Harmony Development Group in partnership with Hongkong Land.
IHG’s Ultra-Luxury Debut In Makkah
IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury portfolio in the Middle East with the launch of Regent Makkah in Saudi Arabia. The 330-key property is strategically located just steps from the Holy Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, and Al Kaaba, offering worshippers and travelers unparalleled views and access.
Construction is already underway for the hotel, which is set to feature specialty restaurants, a world-class spa, and a wellness center. Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for IHG in the region, stated that the property aims to set a new standard for luxury accommodations in Makkah. The development is a collaboration with AIMS Holding and reinforces IHG’s commitment to growing its luxury presence in the region.
