A Maryland man, Seth Jason, 64, was arrested on charges of making threatening calls to Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Georgia offices. The four-count indictment states that Jason threatened to assault and kill Greene and her family between October 2023 and January 2025. He also targeted Greene’s staff members and their families. Jason, who worked for Voice of America, used facilities at the news agency’s headquarters to make these calls. Additionally, he volunteered as a reserve officer for the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Authorities indicted Jason on charges including influencing a federal official by threat and interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure. The grand jury session charges against him in Washington. The rise in threats against public officials highlights the increasing divisiveness in the political landscape.
