Andrew Stewart, Martha Stewart’s ex-husband, and his wife Shyla Nelson Stewart have spoken out regarding accusations made by Martha in the Netflix documentary, Martha. In its trailer, Martha claimed that Andrew had multiple affairs during their 29-year marriage and revealed her own infidelities.
Martha, who was married to Andrew from 1961 to 1990, advised women to leave unfaithful husbands, stating, ‘Get out of that marriage.’ In response, Andrew and Shyla posted a joint statement on Facebook ahead of the documentary’s October 30 release.
Shyla, who is not active on other social media platforms, shared her thoughts, describing Andrew as a gentle and kind man. She vividly expressed their love and gratitude for their life together, emphasizing the joy and purpose they have found in their relationship. Shyla also claimed that Andrew had a difficult past, including a painful marriage with Martha.
She noted that while Andy has moved on, Martha continues to bring up their past. Andrew, who later married Martha’s former assistant Robyn Fairclough, was accused by Martha of numerous affairs, while she admitted to her own transgressions during their marriage. The documentary portrays the complex dynamics of their relationship during that period.
