The latest update from Lyft brings a new Safety Hub that allows users to favorite drivers they like and prioritize them for future rides. This feature aims to enhance rider comfort when sharing rides with strangers and creates opportunities to ride with familiar drivers. Learn more about how this feature works and its benefits for both riders and drivers.
Favoriting a Lyft Driver
After completing a ride, users can now easily mark a driver as a favorite by selecting the ‘Favorite this driver’ option at the end of the ride. This action enables Lyft to match users with their preferred drivers for upcoming rides, promoting a personalized rider-driver experience. Similar to Uber’s favorite driver feature, Lyft’s aim is to acknowledge and reward drivers for their exceptional service.
Driver’s Perspective
When a driver is favorited by a user, the driver will receive a notification for future ride requests. This notification allows the driver to claim the ride, enhancing the chance for repeat interactions. It is important to note that while users can favorite a driver, they cannot directly request a specific driver for a ride.
Blocking Feature and Safety Hub
In addition to favoriting drivers, Lyft’s Safety Hub now includes the option to block drivers with whom users do not wish to ride again. This feature enhances user control and safety within the Lyft app environment. The Safety Hub also offers extra safety measures such as audio recordings, PIN verifications, and the ability to schedule check-ins with trusted contacts. Although currently available for riders only, Lyft plans to extend the Safety Hub to drivers in the near future.
