In a significant move to boost bilateral ties, India rolled out digital e-visas for Kuwaitis on July 13, 2025, covering tourism, business, medical visits, conferences, and AYUSH purposes. The tourist e-visa offers a 5-year validity, while other categories vary in duration and cost, ranging from USD 40 to USD 80. This initiative aims at enhancing convenience and fostering easier mobility, complementing the traditional paper visa option. The application process is entirely online, with biometrics collected upon arrival and processing times of 3–4 working days. Even though the e-visa system is streamlined, India continues to accept paper visa applications via diplomatic channels. This move is expected to increase Kuwaiti tourism, business activities, and medical engagements in India.
