Hyderabad-based Stardour, a leading Spacetech startup, recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully test-firing India’s pioneering hydrogen and oxygen propulsion engine. The rigorous test took place at the esteemed Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru. This groundbreaking engine is slated to power Stardour’s revolutionary orbital transfer vehicle, Lucas, with plans for its launch in 2027. Stardour, spearheaded by former ISRO scientist Rama Rao since its inception in 2020, aims to redefine in-space logistics with cutting-edge technology and innovation. With its green propulsion engine, Lucas is designed to conduct diverse missions across various orbits including LEO, GEO, moon, and Mars, positioning India as a key player in sustainable space exploration.
