The second session of the Dubai Rowing Challenge took place in Hatta, achieving remarkable success with a participation of 2,330 experienced and new rowers, notably surpassing last year’s attendance of 1,000. This event forms a key component of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024 and took place against the backdrop of Hatta’s beautiful mountain scenery. The challenge targeted participants of all ages and skill levels, offering a wide range of activities, including adult and family training sessions led by certified trainers, group challenges, and free kayaking sessions, which were introduced for the first time. The event concluded with a serene yoga session at sunset, allowing participants to unwind and appreciate Hatta’s natural beauty.
Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, remarked that this year’s challenge exceeded expectations and highlighted Dubai’s dedication to fostering a health and fitness culture. The significant turnout illustrates the community’s commitment to an active lifestyle. Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, emphasized that this challenge encapsulated the spirit of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, promoting health, happiness, and community interaction in one of the UAE’s most scenic locations. The introduction of free kayaking added a new dimension to the event, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
