A man convicted of fatally shooting a man and woman outside a Florida bar is set to be executed on Tuesday in what was deemed an act of attempted revenge killing. The man, Michael Bernard Bell, 54, is scheduled to receive a lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke. Originally convicted in 1995, Bell was found guilty of the murders of Jimmy West and Tamecka Smith, marking the 26th execution in the U.S. this year. Florida has witnessed more executions than any other state in 2025, while Texas and South Carolina follow closely behind.
