Florida Democratic legislator Joe Casello has sadly died at the age of 73 due to a heart attack while holding office. Elected in 2018 from Boynton Beach, Casello had a background as a firefighter in Massachusetts before his political career. Plans for a new role on the Palm Beach County Commission in 2026 had been announced. The procedure for a special election as per Florida law is now anticipated.
