Emirates has inked two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet, aimed at improving connectivity and expanding travel options between Dubai and Vietnam’s major cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The agreements were officially signed during the Vietnam UAE Business Forum at the Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah on October 28. Among those present were Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, along with various government leaders and business representatives.
Orhan Abbas, Emirates Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Far East, emphasized the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Vietnam, which it has serviced since 2012. Kazim noted that collaborating with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet is essential for connecting travelers to destinations beyond Emirates’ existing network. He expressed optimism about the potential for increased tourism and trade between the UAE and Vietnam.
Both MoUs provide a framework for exploring enhanced cooperation in various areas, including possible collaboration on cargo services. The long-standing partnership with Vietnam Airlines has already improved connectivity within its domestic and regional networks.
Additionally, the MoU with VietJet aims to boost visitor traffic between the two nations, enhancing access to VietJet’s domestic destinations through Emirates’ Dubai hub. VietJet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong highlighted the potential of this official partnership in fostering cultural exchange and sustainable growth. These initiatives align with the broader efforts of both countries to enhance tourism and business links.
