Dubai is preparing to shine this Festival of Lights with a vibrant lineup of Diwali festivities designed to engage and unite all communities from 25th October to 7th November 2024. Both residents and tourists are invited to indulge in various cultural experiences, comedy shows, musical tributes, theater productions, and numerous free community events.
Curated by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the Diwali program aims to envelop families and friends in the season’s spirit, bringing joy and wonder to all. A series of spectacular fireworks will illuminate the night sky to kick off the celebrations. Fireworks displays are scheduled at Al Seef on the evening of 25th October and at Global Village on the 25th, 26th, and again on the 1st and 2nd of November, all at 21:00.
A standout event this year is the Noor Festival of Lights, hosted at Al Seef from 25th to 27th October. Organized by TeamWork Arts, this three-day cultural fair will offer artistic displays, interactive experiences, and live performances against a backdrop of Diwali-themed decor and fireworks. Activities will include puppet parades, theatrical shows, poetry readings, musical performances, stand-up comedy, painting classes, and a delightful taste of traditional Indian cuisine, all along the picturesque 18-kilometer promenade.
Another exciting event, Deepavali Utsav 2024, will take place on 26th October at Etisalat Academy Dubai. This celebration promises Indian folk dance performances and a funfair filled with games, rides, and activities catering to all age groups, alongside an array of Indian culinary delights from food stalls.
Global Village will host Diwali festivities from 28th October to 3rd November, featuring Rangoli art, stage performances, and additional fireworks. The Festival of Lights Market at the India Pavilion will provide a festive shopping experience, with Indian food options ranging from street food at the Indian Chaat Bazaar to various dining choices.
Deep Utsav 2024, set for 27th October at Glendale International School, Oud Metha, will feature a host of entertainment and activities for everyone, including games, competitions, DJ performances, live drumming, and dance shows, along with various food stalls.
Shoppers can enjoy a Diwali shopping experience on 26th October at the Diwali Fiesta Exhibition at Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers Hotel Residence, showcasing festive apparel, jewelry, home decor, and handicrafts. Additionally, the Diwali Edit Fashion Luxury Exhibition at DoubleTree by Hilton M Square will spotlight fashion designers and artisans on the same day.
Comedy enthusiasts can catch Romesh Ranganathan at the Coca-Cola Arena on 25th October. Music lovers won’t want to miss The Unforgettables, a tribute concert dedicated to the late Jagjit Singh, taking place at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium until 26th October. Theater fans can enjoy Meera: Echoes of Love, a performance celebrating women’s strength and love through dance, theater, and music on 26th October.
Lastly, the theatrical thriller Barff, written and directed by Saurabh Shukla, will conclude the Diwali celebrations at Zabeel Theatre on 8th November, promising an evening filled with suspense and drama.
