In a significant move to promote family wellbeing and work-life balance, Dubai has rolled out a new policy offering 10 working days of fully paid marriage leave to Emirati government employees. This initiative, announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to enhance citizen happiness and social stability through supporting personal milestones. To be eligible, employees must be married to a UAE citizen with a certified marriage contract dated after December 31, 2024. The leave, effective from January 1, 2025, allows flexibility in usage and can be combined with other types of leave. Emphasizing employee wellbeing, the policy aligns with broader national goals on social cohesion and happiness.
