Overview

Dubai is gearing up for its seventh annual Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), a month-long event aimed at transforming the city into one of the world’s most active. Running from October 28 to November 26, the DFC encourages participants to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity daily for 30 days. The event features a packed calendar of free fitness events, community hubs, classes, and activities.

Key Events

  • Dubai Ride: Scheduled for Sunday, November 12, this event offers cyclists the chance to ride past iconic landmarks along Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai. Participants can choose between a 14-kilometre general route or a 4km fun ride.
  • Dubai Run: Taking place on Friday, November 26, this event features a 5km route for families and a 10km route for athletes. Both routes start next to Emirates Towers Metro Station and offer stunning views of Burj Khalifa and other skyscrapers.
  • Dubai Padel Cup: This new addition to the DFC calendar includes three days of exhibition matches and a championship for amateur players. The event will feature some of the world’s top-ranked professionals.

Fitness Villages

  • DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village: A bustling hive of sporting activity, this village offers a variety of free health and fitness activities daily. It features 15 sports zones for activities such as HIIT training, yoga, cycling, and water sports.
  • RTA Mushrif Park Cycle Centre: Complete with guided bike trails, a pump track, and free bike hire, this centre is perfect for cycling enthusiasts.
  • Run and Ride Central: Presented by Meraas, this venue serves as the ultimate destination for clubs, top brands, and all those keen on the lifestyle benefits of running and cycling.

Community Fitness Hubs

The DFC will feature 25 community fitness hubs across the city, including locations like Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), Hatta, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and Dubai Police Officers Club. These hubs will offer free sporting activations and fitness classes.

Free Fitness Sessions

With 600 free fitness sessions and over 400 hours of activities, the DFC provides ample opportunities for participants to stay active. Venues across Dubai will offer free sessions, including yoga at the Theatre of Digital Art and Zumba at Festival Plaza.

Special Features

  • Expo 2020 Dubai: The Expo site will feature a Fitness Village packed with running events, a Global Fitness Stage, football pitch, cricket nets, a gym, and a multisports area. The Expo 2020 Dubai Run, scheduled for Friday, November 19, will take participants around the global fair’s pavilions.
  • Dubai Stand-Up Paddle: This brand-new event promises to be a highlight of this year’s DFC, setting the stage for its biggest ever line-up of events.
