
Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to accelerating AI adoption to unlock new opportunities and solidify its position as a global hub for AI enterprises, talent, and innovation. His remarks were made during the closing of Dubai AI Week 2025, which attracted over 30,000 experts from more than 100 countries.
Organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, the event featured 10 major events across the city, more than 250 sessions, and the launch of over 30 new initiatives and partnerships. The gathering included major tech giants such as Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Google, IBM, Amazon, and NVIDIA.
Sheikh Hamdan announced that the next Dubai AI Week will be held in April 2026, aiming to double participation and expand to 20 events across the city. He stated, “Artificial intelligence is driving an unprecedented transformation in human history, reshaping how individuals and institutions operate.”
He emphasized, “We are determined to seize the opportunities presented by AI to design a better future.” The plans include establishing more AI companies, engaging with global experts, and enhancing AI governance.
The week also featured the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future, which brought together over 150 experts from the global AI ecosystem. Additionally, the Dubai AI Festival attracted over 10,000 participants, including investors and innovators.
Dubai AI Week highlighted the importance of AI in education, with over 10,000 students from 60 schools participating in activities. The event hosted the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, featuring nearly 3,800 participants from 125 countries.
Key announcements included a new Dh2 billion hyperscale data centre project by du in collaboration with Microsoft and the AI Strategy 2030 launched by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
The week also focused on advancing AI in healthcare and education, with the launch of Dubai’s first PhD program in AI at the University of Birmingham. The AI in Healthcare Forum explored transformative roles of AI in health sectors.
Initiatives like the AI Initiative in Arab Media were introduced to empower Arabic technologies, while the Dubai AI Seal was launched to classify trusted AI providers. Overall, Dubai AI Week showcased a commitment to building a thriving AI ecosystem and fostering collaborations aimed at future advancements.
