
Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, expressed the city’s determination to accelerate AI adoption, enhancing its position as a global hub for AI enterprises and innovation. This was highlighted at the conclusion of Dubai AI Week 2025, which attracted over 30,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
Organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the event featured 10 major events, over 250 sessions, and the launch of more than 30 initiatives and partnerships. Sheikh Hamdan announced that the next Dubai AI Week will take place in April 2026, aiming to double participation and events.
He emphasized the transformative power of artificial intelligence, stating, “Those who are best prepared for the future are building the foundations today.” Sheikh Hamdan mentioned plans to foster more AI companies in Dubai and enhance collaboration with global experts.
Furthermore, he outlined the importance of integrating AI skills and applications in educational institutions and innovation hubs. Dubai aims to establish a billion-dollar AI venture ecosystem, supported by its advanced infrastructure and regulatory frameworks.
During the week, the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future gathered over 150 leaders in the AI sector. The Dubai AI Festival attracted over 10,000 participants, showcasing innovations from tech giants and startups.
The AI in Schools initiative engaged over 10,000 students, introducing them to AI concepts. The Global Prompt Engineering Championship brought together nearly 3,800 participants competing for Dh1 million in prizes.
Significant announcements included a Dh2 billion hyperscale data center project and the launch of Dubai’s AI Strategy 2030, comprising 81 initiatives. The week featured the release of multiple reports highlighting successful AI use cases in government and the positive outlook of government employees towards AI.
Education and healthcare were key focuses, with the University of Birmingham announcing a PhD program in AI. The AI in Healthcare Forum explored the sector’s transformation through AI.
Additionally, the AI Initiative in Arab Media was launched to enhance Arabic language technology. The week concluded with the certification of the first AI companies under the Dubai AI Seal, promoting trusted AI providers.
Supported by various strategic partners and global technology firms, Dubai AI Week 2025 solidified Dubai’s commitment to being at the forefront of AI innovation and development.
