I walked into the studio, mat in hand, ready to take on whatever poses the instructor had in store for me. But core power is more than just about physical strength. It’s also about mental toughness and resilience. When we have a strong core, we feel more confident, more grounded, and more capable of taking on whatever challenges come our way.

How Yoga and Pilates Can Help

So, how can yoga and pilates help us discover our core power? Both practices focus on building strength, flexibility, and body awareness, which are all essential for developing a strong and stable core.

In yoga, we use poses like plank, boat, and tree to engage our core muscles and build strength and endurance. We also use breathing techniques and meditation to cultivate mental toughness and focus.

In pilates, we use movements like the hundred, teaser, and side bends to target our core muscles and build strength and control. We also use equipment like the reformer and cadillac to add resistance and challenge our bodies.
