Like many of us, I had always associated strength with bulging biceps and rippling abs, but yoga and pilates taught me that true power comes from within – specifically, from our core.

What is Core Power?

So, what exactly is core power? Simply put, it refers to the strength and stability of our core muscles, which include our abdominals, back, and pelvis. Our core is the foundation of our body, and it plays a crucial role in everything we do, from simple movements like walking and standing to more complex activities like running and lifting.

How Yoga and Pilates Can Help

Yoga and pilates are two practices that are particularly effective at building core power. By incorporating these practices into our fitness routine, we can improve our overall strength, flexibility, and balance. But how exactly do they work?

Yoga, for example, uses a combination of postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to engage our core muscles and promote overall well-being.
