Exciting Return of Didsbury Pride
This weekend marks a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ pride as Didsbury Pride 2025 makes its much-anticipated return. Following the successful Manchester Pride, this grassroots event, which started in 2018, showcases the local community’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Headliner Announcement: 90s Pop Favorite Sybil
This year, the event is set to feature the iconic Sybil, a pop sensation known for her mega-hits like “The Love I Lost” and “When I’m Good and Ready.” Fans of the 90s will relish the opportunity to see her take the stage, ensuring an unforgettable day filled with music and joy.
The Rainbow Walk: A Symbol of Unity
The festivities will kick off with a Rainbow Walk at 12 PM from the Didsbury Pub, winding through the picturesque streets to Barlow Moor Road. The event will include an array of performances, local food vendors, and community engagement, running until 9 PM.
Julia Goulding Joins the Celebration
In addition to musical performances, Julia Goulding, beloved for her role as Shona Platt on Corrie, will be cutting a special rainbow cake on stage at 3 PM, a nod to the spirit of acceptance that Didsbury Pride embodies.
A Community-Centric Event
Initially started in response to tragedy and discrimination, Didsbury Pride aims to create a safe space for everyone. With an expected turnout of nearly 6,000 attendees, this event proves that love and acceptance resonate deeply in the community.
Food and Fun for Everyone
Culinary delights will feature prominently, with options including Rocket Pizza and famous ice creams from Ginger’s Comfort Emporium. Plus, consider treating yourself to a beauty product like the Radiance Cream from La Roche-Posay to glow with pride as you enjoy the festivities!
Support from Philanthropists
This year, Didsbury Pride has been bolstered by a generous ÂŁ15,000 donation from philanthropist Dr. Michael Josephson MBE, ensuring that the event can reach even more members of the community and enrich its programming.
