Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, along with Reverend Mrs. Victoria Oke, celebrated the 40th remembrance of their late daughter by empowering 40 youths through the Dorcas Oke Hope Alive Initiatives (DOHAL) foundation. Each youth received a 100,000 Naira empowerment fund and underwent skill acquisition training. Oke, who is also the founder of Sword of the Spirit Ministries International, further enhanced the foundation’s resources with a new facility.
Another highlight of the remembrance was an annual public lecture themed ‘The Challenges of the African Child’, held at Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan, Oyo State. Esteemed guests included Professor Dapo Asaju, a former Vice Chancellor and Bishop of Ilesha Diocese, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, founding Partner of Future Africa, and Bishop Mike Bamidele of Victory Life Ministries International.
During his talk, Professor Asaju urged the youth to assume leadership roles now, citing historical figures who led at a young age. He emphasized the importance of using their unique advantages to shape Nigeria’s future. Aboyeji stressed incorporating leadership and entrepreneurship into educational curricula, while Bishop Bamidele highlighted the need for models, skills, financial support, and scholarships for African children. He encouraged the youth to develop leadership skills to illuminate Africa’s future.
