A recent poll in Australia has shown that Australians are more worried about the impact of Trump’s tariffs compared to the increasing Chinese military presence in the Pacific region.
The survey conducted revealed that 42% of Australians consider US tariffs a greater concern, while only 37% see the Chinese military buildup as more pressing.
It was noted that there is a partisan effect, with Labor and Greens supporters viewing Trump’s tariffs as a bigger threat, in contrast to Coalition and minor party voters who are more concerned about China.
Anthony Albanese, the Labor leader, has seen an increase in satisfaction ratings, marking a positive turn since September 2023.
The Prime Minister’s approval ratings have also improved, with a net rating of plus-three at the moment, indicating a better response compared to previous periods of political turmoil.
