iOS 26 Beta 4 Revision: Minor Update
The tech giant Apple has introduced a fresh iteration of iOS 26 Beta 4, featuring a build number consistent with the first public beta unveiled on Thursday. According to beta release tracker Beta Profiles on X (previously Twitter), the original developer release of iOS 26 Beta 4 displayed the build number 23A5297i, while the revised version carries the build number 23A5297m. Alongside, Apple has also introduced the initial public beta versions of iPadOS 26 and macOS 26 on Friday.
The re-issued iOS 26 Beta 4 showcases a new build ID: 23A5297m, which was 23A5297i previously. Users now have the option to transition from the Developer Beta to the Public Beta through Software Updates > Beta Updates.
It remains uncertain whether Apple has included any alterations in the re-released developer beta. The Cupertino-based company may have executed minor adjustments compared to the original developer beta 4, besides addressing specific bug fixes. This development follows the release of the initial iOS 26 Beta 4 to developers.
iOS 26 Beta 4 delivered significant changes from the third beta release. Notable updates involve adjustments in transparent UI elements to enhance legibility. Users witnessed an enhancement in Liquid Glass design elements. Furthermore, after months of disabling, Apple has reintroduced notification summaries for News and Entertainment.
Apple also made slight modifications to the Camera app icon and Call Screening options. The original iOS 26 beta 4 update improved usability by slightly darkening the Notification Centre background, thereby resolving legibility issues highlighted by early testers.
Apple is gearing up to launch iOS 26, initially presented during the WWDC 2025 event, coinciding with the anticipated release of the iPhone 17 series later this year. While the company is yet to formally announce the phone launch, leaks disclosing specifications have already surfaced online.
