macOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26 Public Betas: What’s New
Compatible Mac users can now try out macOS 26 public beta, which includes the Liquid Glass design on different parts of the interface. The Control Centre is revamped to resemble iOS and iPadOS design, allowing Live Activities to be displayed on the menu bar. The Spotlight app’s improvements bring filters for various types of results, and Shortcuts app supports machine learning in shortcuts.
Safari, Messages, Files, and FaceTime apps receive visual enhancements, including translucent effects. Messages can now have image backgrounds for chats, and real-time translation is available in FaceTime and Messages. iPadOS 26 adds new window management, similar to macOS 26, and Live Activities support.
watchOS 26 brings the Workout Buddy feature for Apple Watch users, offering workout motivation by using past activity data. Other additions include a new wrist flick gesture and accessible Notes app. Liquid Glass design elements are also present in watchOS 26, such as the Control Centre and keypad.
While these public betas are exciting, it is advisable to install them on secondary devices due to potential bugs in the pre-release software.
