
On July 20, 2025, Air Arabia, based in the UAE, in collaboration with Saudi firms Kun Investment Holding and Nesma Group, secured the license to operate a new national low-cost airline in Dammam. The airline plans to launch with 45 aircraft flying to 81 destinations, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to enhance regional connectivity. This partnership aims to boost competition, increase seat capacity, and offer more affordable travel options across the Kingdom. The airline’s initiative supports economic diversification beyond oil and contributes to the growth of aviation in the region.
