Responding to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s call for support, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched programs aimed at ensuring educational continuity in Lebanon. This initiative, under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), addresses the needs of children and schools affected by recent events.
The Lebanon Education Continuity Project for 2024-2025 expects to initially assist 40,000 students, ensuring ongoing education despite disruptions. Utilizing integrated digital platforms, the project offers educational programs and essential resources for teachers. This effort underscores the UAE’s commitment to education as a foundation for community recovery and sustainable development.
Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, emphasized the importance of this project in helping Lebanese children overcome significant educational challenges. The Digital School will employ smart solutions that align with Lebanon’s official curriculum, aiming to support students in displacement centers with necessary educational content accessible without internet connections.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed ordered emergency food aid for 250,000 people in Lebanon, part of a wider humanitarian campaign launched in October 2024 which has seen diverse community engagement in relief efforts. MBRGI prioritizes investing in education to advance societies, combating illiteracy and fostering knowledge among Arab youth.
