Ahaan Panday’s Bollywood debut in ‘Saiyaara’ has made an impressive start, earning Rs 20 crore at the box office. Interestingly, Panday was initially slated to debut in a grand superhero film alongside Ajay Devgn, where Devgn would play the antagonist. However, the project faced COVID-19 delays, leading to its shelving. Ahaan, who plays an aspiring rockstar named Krish Kapoor in Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, started his career as an Assistant Director on YRF’s Netflix series The Railway Men. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film that got shelved was planned as a grand multi-part superhero saga with Ahaan in the lead role and Ajay Devgn as the villain, while Manushi Chhillar was also part of the cast. Due to Ajay Devgn’s scheduling issues caused by COVID-19 delays, the project was shelved, leading Ahaan to his current success in ‘Saiyaara’.
