Jeshua Antonio Pinto from Goa is all set to represent India at the FISU World University Games 2025 in Germany. Excited about this opportunity, he will be the first player from Goa to play for the Indian Universities men’s basketball team. With a strong determination to compete against top student-athletes globally, Jeshua feels the weight of responsibility as he gears up to face challenges from nations worldwide. The Games, featuring over 10,000 participants from 150+ countries across 18 sports, mark a significant multi-sport university event. Jeshua, currently pursuing his master’s at the University of Kota, Rajasthan, credits his foundation to his mother and coach Helen Pinto. The Indian team, led by Krishnapalsinh Gohil, has undergone intensive training in preparation for the tough matches ahead, including a game against the US in the opening match. Despite tough competition from traditional powerhouses, Jeshua’s focus remains on giving his best for the team in every game.
