A man suspected in the disappearance of his then-girlfriend in the 1980s, recently extradited from California to Oregon, has been arraigned on a murder charge linked to the cold case. Mark Sanfratello, 72, faced a grand jury indictment for second-degree murder in the death of Teresa Peroni. Peroni vanished in 1983 after a party near Selma, possibly with Sanfratello. The case reopened in 2024 after DNA evidence identified Peroni’s skull found in 1997 on a nearby property. Sanfratello is held without bail, awaiting legal proceedings.
