On the 389th day of the ongoing genocide, the Israeli army intensified its bombing and shelling across the Gaza Strip, particularly targeting northern areas such as Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and Jabalia, killing dozens of Palestinians, including many children and women. The military expanded its air, land, and sea operations, severely affecting more than 100,000 Palestinians who are besieged in northern Gaza.
In Beit Lahia, attacks on homes belonging to the AlOmari and Abu Obeid families resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals. Additionally, a missile strike on a five-story residential building owned by the Abu Nasr family claimed the lives of over 77 Palestinians, primarily children and women, with many others critically wounded and trapped under rubble.
Rescue operations were hampered by ongoing bombings, which also targeted the Kamal Adwan hospital that has already suffered numerous airstrikes. In Jabalia, the Israeli military burned down the AlFakhoura school run by UNRWA. Continuing violence throughout Gaza’s cities resulted in further deaths and injuries as displaced families faced relentless attacks. Internationally, UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned new Israeli legislation banning UNRWA’s operations in Israel, warning it could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis for Palestinian refugees.
