The recent Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) of State Bank of India, amounting to Rs 25,000 crore, received overwhelming response with oversubscription by over three times, reaching close to Rs 1 lakh crore. Key investors included Life Insurance Corporation of India, HDFC Life, ICICI Prudential Life, and prominent foreign investors like Nomura, Millennium, BlackRock, and Marshall Wace. This move is seen as a strategic investment to enhance the bank’s financial position and support future credit growth. The QIP, launched in 2025, is a significant step for SBI towards strengthening its market presence.
