  • Use Yoga Breathing Techniques: Try incorporating yoga breathing techniques, such as ujjayi (ocean breath) or kapalabhati (breath of fire), into your pilates routine. These techniques can help to calm the mind and warm up the body.
  • Coordinate Breath with Movement: As you move through your pilates exercises, try to coordinate your breath with your movements. For example, inhale as you lengthen your spine, and exhale as you engage your core.

Another benefit is improved core engagement. When we’re able to engage our core and maintain good posture, we’re able to get more out of our exercises and reduce our risk of injury. By incorporating breathwork into my pilates routine, I’ve found that I’m able to engage my core more effectively and maintain good posture throughout my workouts.
