In recent weeks, Abu Dhabi’s skies have been illuminated with some stunning light and art installations.
A drone lighting show over the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the amazing tour of Lulu Island have captured the public’s imagination, and now more exciting locations will be revealed soon.
From 21 December 2023, Alaa Edris, Ayman Zedani, Mohammed Kazem, Rain Wu and teamLab will unveil a second series of light art installations on Al Samaliyah and Al Jubail islands.
The popular exhibition runs until 30 January 2024 with new site-specific commissions, light sculptures, projections, and immersive artworks installed at key locations in the city, including Corniche Road and Beach, the Eastern Mangroves, Fahid Island, Jubail Mangrove Park, Lulu Island, Saadiyat Island and Al Samaliyah Island.

At Jubail Mangrove Park on nearby Al Jubail Island, Rain Wu captivates the viewers in One with the Soil, One with the Cloud, in which the artist uses a constellation of lights to depict the life cycle of mangrove trees, highlighting the transient nature of existence and offering a unique aerial perspective on the living world.
Lastly, Alaa Edris reimagines Saadiyat Island against the backdrop of the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum, offering a fresh perspective on this evolving iconic location.
