The prestigious Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund has unveiled an exciting opportunity for budding filmmakers with the announcement of the new Storyline Production Award. Worth an impressive 250,000 NOK (approximately $24,500), this award is intended to bolster feature film projects in the early stages of financing, providing them with essential post-production resources.
Empowering Nordic Filmmakers
The Storyline Production Award will be delivered by a distinguished international jury comprising Casey Baron (Tribeca Film Festival), Marge Liiske (Industry@Talents & Baltic Event, Tallinn), and Josef Kullengaard (Göteborg Film Festival). This panel of experts will evaluate 21 projects, selecting the one with the most significant potential for global appeal to receive the coveted award.
Alongside the Storyline Production Award, the jury will also choose the winner of the Producers Network’s Best Pitch Award. This honor grants the recipient a coveted spot in the Cannes Marché du Film producers’ program, further amplifying the opportunity to attract international partners and investors.
Showcasing Exceptional Nordic Talent
This year’s New Nordic Films Market promises to spotlight some of the region’s most promising cinematic voices. Projects range from Benjamin Ree’s The Remarkable Life of Ibelin to Måns Månsson’s The Real Estate. These works are a testament to the innovation and creativity thriving within Nordic storytelling.
A special Baltic Focus segment will also highlight six filmmakers from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Their latest projects include Vallo Toomla’s Pretenders and Jorūnė Greičiūtė’s Silver Crane, ensuring an enriching international flavor to the showcase.

Vidar Grande, post-producer at Storyline Studios, shared his excitement about the award: “Our facilities and teams across the Nordic countries make it natural for us to champion a Nordic award. The Nordic Co-Production Market provides an engaging platform for bold new stories, and we aim to support these projects with the cameras, expertise, and technology that have made many Nordic films successful on the global stage.”
Storyline Studios is recognized as one of Scandinavia’s leading post-production and rental houses, with accolades like the European Film Awards Best Sound Design for The Innocents in 2021. Recent high-profile projects include Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value and Netflix’s Secrets We Keep, showcasing their commitment to cinematic excellence.
