
A heartbreaking incident in Whitstable, Kent, has left a two-year-old child dead after a car reportedly collided with multiple pedestrians. The tragic event occurred on Saturday, August 16, at the junction of Harbour Street and Cromwell Road at approximately 8:24 PM.
Emergency services, including Kent Police and crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, swiftly responded to the scene. The response included three ambulances and two critical care paramedics. Sadly, despite their efforts, the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and support is being provided.
Additional Injuries and Arrest
Two adults, a male and a female, were also injured during the incident. One of them, an adult male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for urgent treatment. A statement from Kent Police confirmed the severity of the situation, stating: “A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene for causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody while investigations continue.”
