
An 11-year-old girl has tragically passed away after an incident at a beauty spot along the River Lynher in Cornwall. Emergency services responded to the distress call at Wacker Quay near Torpoint around 6pm on Saturday, where concerns were raised about a person in the water, according to police.
The young girl, hailing from South Devon, was retrieved from the water and received immediate medical attention but was later pronounced deceased at the scene. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that her next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialized officers. The authorities have stated that the incident is not deemed suspicious, and a report will be assembled for the coroner’s examination.
