Kuwait has seen a drastic improvement in road safety in the first half of 2025, with significant reductions in traffic accidents, fatalities, and violations. The implementation of a stringent new traffic law in late April has been key to this progress. Traffic accidents dropped by 45% to 1,383 incidents, while traffic-related deaths decreased by 34% to 94 fatalities. Traffic offenses also saw a reduction of 16%, showcasing a shift towards safer driving behavior in Kuwait. The newly enforced law with harsher penalties has notably influenced driver behavior and contributed to the overall decline in road incidents. Efforts to sustain this positive trend align with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 goals of enhancing safety and infrastructure development. Ongoing investment in monitoring technologies and collaboration between related authorities aim to further improve road safety in Kuwait.
