Manager Enda McGinley of Errigal Ciaran will encounter a number of familiar rivals in their third match in consecutive weekends. McGinley previously trained multiple members of the Cargin team during a two-year tenure with the Saffrons. Adding to the familiarity, four of McGinley’s brothers-in-law, the McCann siblings, are likely to play for the Antrim champions at Corrigan Park.
Although the lead up to the game has been challenging for McGinley, it’s a scenario Errigal Ciaran scarcely imagined when trailing by a point against St Eunans at last Saturday’s Ulster Club preliminary round in Omagh. Despite such complications, they managed a two-point win courtesy of two last-minute scores from Ben McDonnell.
Cargin, on the other hand, squeezed a victory against Portglenone during the Antrim SFC title at the start of October after playing extra time. Moreover, they nearly upset Glen in the previous provincial semi-final.
The game between Cargin and Errigal Ciaran is scheduled at Corrigan Park, Belfast, on November 10, with the kick-off at 1 pm. The game can be watched live on Ulster GAA TV with a purchase cost of £13. Additionally, a live blog will cover all action on Belfast Live Sport. Betting odds stand at Cargin 3/1, Draw 15/2 and Errigal Ciaran 1/3.
