Recent speculations surrounding actress Aneet Padda have falsely linked her success in ‘Saiyaara’ to alleged industry connections, notably questioning her relationship to filmmaker Nitya Mehra. These claims have been refuted, clarifying that Aneet was born in 2002, while Nitya Mehra’s child was born in 2019.
Mohit Suri’s latest cinematic venture, ‘Saiyaara,’ continues to captivate audiences and excel at the box office. Despite the film’s triumph, discussions have emerged suggesting that Aneet’s involvement is attributed to nepotism. Reports surfaced on Reddit insinuating that she is Nitya Mehra’s daughter, renowned for directing ‘Baar Baar Dekho.’ The root of these rumors stems from a viral post titled ‘Aneet Padda Nepo Kid,’ which incorrectly identifies her as the offspring of filmmakers Nitya Mehra and Karan Kapadia, accusing her of unfair advantage due to family connections.
These assertions, however, are baseless, as Nitya and Karan are known to have welcomed their child in 2019, a fact contrasting Aneet’s birthdate of October 14, 2002.
Unraveling the Confusion
The confusion arose when Aneet affectionately referred to the mentioned couple as her ‘Bombay parents’ while collaborating on ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry,’ a production helmed by Karan Kapadia and produced by Nitya Mehra. Despite their integral support in her career journey, they are not her biological parents.
Originating from Amritsar, Aneet emerges from a modest background, undergoing education at Spring Dale Senior School and pursuing further studies at Jesus and Mary College, Delhi, where she ventured into modeling. Enjoying a private existence, her parents maintain a low profile, with the exception of her mother who has consistently fueled Aneet’s passion for acting since her formative years.
Preceding her appearance in ‘Saiyaara,’ Aneet graced a few commercials and undertook a minor role in Kajol’s film, ‘Salaam Venky.’ Noteworthy, her OTT debut transpired in 2024 with the series ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry.’
